In early June 2012, I accompanied my husband Russell to the annual scientific congress of the International College of Neuropsychopharmacology in Stockholm, Sweden. Our good friend Alan Frazer also attended the meeting and was there with his wife Gail.
The four of us toured Stockholm and some of the surrounding area, including taking a short scenic boat ride to the lovely island of Stora Fjäderholmen, the largest of the four small islands that are part of the Fjäderholmarnas (otherwise known as the feather islands) in the Stockholm archipeligo. The island is easily walkable, with charming shops and a couple of excellent restaurants as well as enticing woodland nature trails. This painting is based upon a photo I took outside of Fjäderholmarnas Krukmakeri, a pottery studio and shop that is still there today.
