In October 2022, my husband Russell and I, accompanied by his brother Ethan and wife Brenda, took a scenic “fall color” cruise of eastern Canada and New England. I must say that the fall color we experienced was pretty spectacular and did not disappoint. Lots of golden leaves on the trees, along with bright oranges and intense red colors.

One of the locations we visited during the cruise was Canyon Sainte-Anne, a beautiful regional park that features the Sainte-Anne-du-Nord River and includes numerous hiking trails and three suspension bridges. One of the suspension bridges is a thrilling 197 feet high and was quite nerve-wracking for us to cross! The gorge was formed naturally beginning 1.2 billion years ago in the Precambrian Age. A major attraction in the park is a waterfall that is 243 feet high (taller than Niagara Falls at 187 feet). However, I chose to paint a smaller waterfall on the river as the colorful and peaceful beauty of its surroundings really spoke to me.
